Experience, practical knowledge and a people-first approach to property management
At Larchfield Asset Management, we believe good property management depends as much on the people looking after a development as it does on processes, systems and procedures.
As our team continues to grow, we think it’s time to introduce some of the people behind Larchfield – starting with Lamees.
Over a decade of block management experience
Lamees brings more than 11 years of experience in block management, together with additional experience in lettings management.
That combination has given her a broad and well-rounded understanding of residential property management and, importantly, an appreciation of the different perspectives involved – from residents and leaseholders to clients, contractors and other professionals.
Throughout her career, Lamees has developed extensive experience in the practical day-to-day management of residential developments, including:
- Coordinating repairs and planned maintenance
- Managing and liaising with contractors
- Building positive relationships with residents and leaseholders
- Responding to the day-to-day issues that inevitably arise within communal developments
- Supporting health and safety management and wider compliance requirements
- Helping to ensure developments are managed efficiently and professionally
Of course, anyone who works in block management will know that the job description rarely tells the whole story.
A typical day can involve anything from a leaking roof and an unhappy resident to contractor queries, compliance matters and a communal light that has suddenly become the most important light fitting in Devon.
For us, being able to deal with all of that calmly, practically and professionally is just as important as technical knowledge.
The human side of property management
Technical knowledge is important in our industry, but residential property management is fundamentally about people and their homes.
Residents understandably care about where they live. Clients need confidence that their developments are being properly managed. Contractors need clear instructions and effective communication.
For that reason, good property management requires more than simply administering a building.
It requires good judgement, organisation, communication and the ability to find practical solutions when things do not quite go according to plan.
Ultimately, these are the qualities Lamees brings to the Larchfield team, alongside her considerable industry experience.
Building the Larchfield team
As Larchfield has grown, we have been very deliberate about the kind of company we want to build.
For us, growth isn’t simply about taking on more developments. It is about building an experienced team with the capacity to provide the standard of management our clients and residents should expect.
That means investing in good people, maintaining strong professional standards and, wherever possible, retaining the personal and approachable service that has always been important to us.
Lamees is very much part of that next chapter.
We’re delighted to have her as part of the Larchfield team, and over the coming months, we’ll be introducing more of the people working behind the scenes to look after the developments entrusted to us.
